Welcome to femme petale flower farm

Hi, I’m Teneale Coetzee, the hands (and heart) behind Femme Petale.

Where flowers are grown with intention, designed with heart, and shared with joy.
I’m a farmer-florist who started growing flowers to supplement my floral design work with organic, seasonal, and unique blooms. What began as a way to bring more beauty and integrity into my arrangements quickly blossomed into something much bigger.
As the demand for fresh, sustainable flowers grew, so did the need for knowledge, inspiration, and a place to reconnect—with nature, with community, and with creativity. Femme Pétale has grown into a lifestyle brand that celebrates all of this and more.

Here’s what you’ll find at Femme Pétale:
Seasonal, Bio-Organic Flowers Grown right here on the farm—no chemicals, no shortcuts. Just beautiful, intentional blooms that reflect the rhythm of the seasons.
Floral Design & Education Workshops, gatherings, and tutorials to help you design with freshly picked flowers, master floral techniques, and build your own garden-to-vase journey.
Growing Guidance From seed to stem—I share how to grow your own flower haven using regenerative, earth-friendly practices. Whether you’re starting a few pots on a balcony or your own cutting patch, I’m here to guide you. Gifts, Seed Packets & Flower-Lover Merchandise
Our signature seed packets, curated gifts, and limited-edition merchandise are designed to bring joy, connection, and beauty into everyday life.
Sustainable Design Tools Our custom-designed ceramic vases and flower frogs support foam-free arranging and elevate floral styling—crafted to honour the flowers and the hands that design with them. Community & Connection This is a space for flower lovers, growers, creatives, and curious minds. A place to learn, gather, and grow together—season by season.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’re here to grow, design, gift, or simply enjoy the beauty of blooms—you’re always welcome at Femme Pétale.

2014 - 2018

My journey into flower farming didn’t start in a straight line. I began designing florals for events and weddings but felt disconnected from the flowers I was using — the colours never felt quite right, and worse still, they were often chemically treated. After a melanoma diagnosis in 2014, everything shifted. I made the decision to move toward a more sustainable, conscious way of working — one rooted in health, honesty, and nature. I met Louise from the Wild Bunch flower farm in 2018, while attending a workshop with my mentor Sue McCleary. I knew then that I wanted to have my own flowers to work with and I needed to make it happen.

2019 - 2020

In 2019, I found the Floret course and finally began to understand the possibilities of growing beautiful, chemical-free blooms. A wedding in 2020 became the turning point: a divine sign (and a surprise flower auction price drop!) gave me the exact amount I needed to enrol. That, and a scholarship, set me firmly on this path. I haven’t looked back since.

I started growing in my mother’s garden — on the very land I was raised on, where my love for nature first bloomed.

2021

December 2021 I had a full area of approximately 280sqm of a select amount of flowers that I could design my first full wedding with exclusively. It was a magical, pinch-me moment

2022

In 2022 I realised then that the demand for flowers was so high I couldn’t keep up. I then hired my first employee, which was so scary, and then decided to grow a new cutting field 3 times bigger than this one, which was delusional, but off we went and blindly got to work. Hands in the soil everyday, hearts happy and head in the clouds full of dreams, we started the beds and building the field in July 2022 and by that December we were selling the flowers by the trolley full.

2023

In 2023 I opened up the farm for the first time for open days, which were amazing, hosted my first workshops, including the watercolour workshop with Jess and later on that year my first growers workshop. Since then the growth of this farm and the rhythm and lessons have been so fulfilling.

2024

In 2024 we expanded our product range to include the most amazing product yet, the advent calendar, an even bigger growers workshop and so many markets and open garden visits.

2025

This brings us to 2025. We have a new delivery vehicle and new products in the pipeline as well as more dreams.

Femme Pétale is more than a flower farm. It’s a space rooted in intention, resilience, and a deep love for organic, seasonal beauty. I believe in growing with nature — not against it — and in empowering others to do the same. Whether it’s through our workshops, our regenerative practices, or the sustainable ceramics we design for foam-free floristry, my goal is to share everything I’ve learned and help others reconnect with flowers, and with themselves.

The lessons from the land keep coming. From unexpected cricket invasions to floods and frosts, it’s been humbling. But I’ve watched swallows clear pests, soil rebuild itself, and flowers bounce back stronger — and through it all, I’ve come to trust the rhythms of the earth, and the quiet ways it teaches us.

This work has helped me discover new sides of myself — teacher, grower, designer, nurturer. But most importantly, it’s reconnected me to my faith, and to the quiet power of beauty in the everyday. It’s my joy to share that with you.

We love having visitors to the farm, we however are not a commercial farm and only allow limited visitors on allocated days during the season, or for private events. We are constantly working, harvesting for orders or deliveries and designing with the blooms so allocate time each season to invite people to come and enjoy our tranquil space with us.

Our website is also constantly being developed with the products on hand, perfect for gifting and for your own designing needs.

Yes I am a floral designer, and do full wedding on Teneale Coetzee Creations, however I can also sell the wedding mixed buckets for your own designing, or can do an a la carte collect version of limited wedding florals.
