Didiscus

Scientific Name: Trachymene coerulea. It belongs to the family Apiaceae, commonly known as the carrot or parsley family.

Height: It typically grows to a height of about 60 to 90 cm (24 to 36 inches).

Plant Type: The plant is an annual, meaning it completes its life cycle in one growing season.

Plant Spacing: When planting Didicus Plants, it is recommended to space them about 23cm (9inch)

Sun Preference: They prefer full sun and well-drained soil. They are relatively easy to grow from seed and can be used in borders, containers, and as cut flowers.

Appearance: Didiscus flowers are small, typically blue or lavender, and are arranged in umbels, which are umbrella-like clusters. They can also occasionally be found in white or blush pink

Harvesting: The best time to cut Didiscus flowers is when about half of the florets in the umbel have opened. This ensures that the flowers are mature enough to last well in a vase but still have some buds that will continue to open and add to the arrangement’s appeal.

Vase life : Vase life is expected to 5-7days

Special features:  In the language of flowers, Didiscus can symbolize delicate beauty and simplicity.

Design features: Didiscus is a fabulous supporting flower because of its unique colour and delicate details. I also love using it as a filer flower as you get multiple flowers per stem.
